From: OIA Requests
Tçnâ koe Chris,
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act) to Manatû Hauora (Ministry of Health) on 26 August 2022 for:
“Are you able to provide the datasets from 2000 - 2022 with the statistics
for
- Abortion Spontaneous
- Abortion Missed
- Miscarriage
Any and all datasets relating to miscarriages / spontaneous abortions
through those years.
Can you also tell me
- Total Number of Pregnant woman vaccinated in New Zealand”
As part of the health and disability system reforms, as of 1 July 2022 the
functions previously under the Manatû Hauora directorate have transferred
to Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora). As the matters you have
raised now fall under the functions of Te Whatu Ora, we have consulted
with this agency for a response to your request which has been considered
under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).
You request is refused under section 18(g)(i) of the Act, as the
information requested is not held by Manatû Hauora or Te Whatu Ora, and
there are no grounds for believing it is connected more closely with the
functions of another agency subject to the Act. The data you have
requested are for common events that largely occur outside of health
services.
However, you may be interested in these previous OIA responses on abortion
statistics that are publicly available:

Under section 28(3) of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to
review any decisions made under this request. The Ombudsman may be
contacted by email at: [3][email address] or by calling 0800
