Statistics for vaccinated as opposed to unvaccinated including transmission
Grace Haden made this Official Information request to Health New Zealand
The request was partially successful.
From: Grace Haden
Dear Health New Zealand,
We have been told that there is one source of truth and that we have to follow the science
Many NZers were treated as leppers and shunned because they had not been vaccinated
This all came down to a vax passport which allowed participation in society and forced many to be excluded from social activities
The propaganda promoted was that the vaccine to stopped transmission and that we had an obligation to keep others safe
Pfizer has now come out and advised that transmission was not a factor, and the vaccines did not prevent this
By way of OIA please provide all documentation and evidence which the govt health authorities relied on to make a decision to segregation our people based on vaccination status . this would include directives from over seas authorities
I further seek the evidence relied on which supports that widely spread message that unvaccinated persons were more likely to spread covid as a vaccinated person .
Also Please provide a copy of all statistical data relating to sickness amongst vaccinated and unvaccinated person post vaccination for
1. covid
2. any other illness
3. death
Yours faithfully,
Grace Haden

Health New Zealand
Kia ora Grace
Thank you for your request for official information under the Official
Information Act 1982, received on 23 November 2022 concerning the
COVID-19 vaccination and mandates. Please find a response to each part of
your request below:
By way of OIA please provide all documentation and evidence which the
govt health authorities relied on to make a decision to segregation our
people based on vaccination status . this would include directives from
over seas authorities
The New Zealand Government did not segregate people based on their
vaccination status. The Vaccination Order required certain professions to
be vaccinated to protect workforces and vulnerable populations. The Air
Border Order and Marine Border Order required vaccination as an entry
requirement into New Zealand, and the COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
allowed businesses to restrict entry to vaccinated people only. Both
policies were intended to reduce transmission and to protect vulnerable
populations.
Further information concerning the vaccination mandates can be found in
the OIA responses below:
o [1]www.health.govt.nz/system/files/documents/information-release/h2022013610_response.pdf.
o [2]www.health.govt.nz/system/files/documents/information-release/h202203767_20210940.pdf.
I further seek the evidence relied on which supports that widely spread
message that unvaccinated persons were more likely to spread covid as a
vaccinated person
All information collated by Manatū Hauora on COVID-19 transmission is
publicly available at:
[3]www.health.govt.nz/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-resources-and-tools/covid-19-science-news#variants.
In general (not COVID-19-specific), there are two mechanisms through which
vaccines can potentially reduce transmission:
1. Preventing infection of the vaccinated person (if a person is
uninfected, they cannot transmit the virus). This is measured in vaccine
efficacy/effectiveness against infection.
2. Reducing the number of onward infections (if the vaccinated person does
become infected). This is measured by assessing the reduction in the
number of transmissions to contacts of infected individuals.
These two methods combine to provide a larger effect than either of them
in isolation.
For the Pfizer vaccine, there is a substantial body of evidence available
about its ability to reduce the number of infections (and the subsequent
effect on transmission through reduction of infection). The data has been
monitored by Manatū Hauora and is publicly available at:
[4]www.health.govt.nz/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-resources-and-tools/covid-19-science-news#variants.
Although the vaccine effectiveness against infection reduces over time, an
effect does persist for a period after vaccination (for example it is
estimated 50% of infections are prevented at around four months after
vaccination for individuals aged 18-59 years). Effects on onward
transmissions (that is, the ability of a vaccinated person to transmit on
to other people) is substantially more challenging to measure (and the
results harder to interpret) there are far fewer studies. The limited data
that is available for Omicron on onward transmission after infection (all
vaccines, not limited to Pfizer) is available at:
[5]www.health.govt.nz/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-resources-and-tools/covid-19-science-news#variants.
It should be noted that data for vaccine effectiveness (against infection
and onward transmission) for variants prior to Omicron has been monitored
since trial data was first released by Pfizer in 2020. Vaccine
effectiveness against infection was generally higher for previous variants
than for Omicron.
Also Please provide a copy of all statistical data relating to sickness
amongst vaccinated and unvaccinated person post vaccination for
1. covid
2. any other illness
3. death
We have interpreted this part of your request as asking whether Medsafe or
Manatū Hauora engages in a comparative exercise between COVID-19
vaccinations and new diseases or medical conditions in a general sense.
Medsafe and Manatū Hauora do not report in this way and doing so would be
of no value without establishing a causal link between COVID-19
vaccinations and other conditions. Therefore, this part of your request is
refused under section 18(g) of the Act, as the information requested is
not held by Manatū Hauora or any other agency subject to the Act.
Adverse events following an immunisation with any vaccine can be reported
to the Centre for Adverse Reactions Monitoring (CARM) by anyone. For
COVID-19 vaccines, a summary of these reports is published here:
[6]www.medsafe.govt.nz/COVID-19/vaccine-report-overview.asp.
Information concerning COVID-19 infection rates and deaths broken down by
vaccination status can be found below:
[7]www.health.govt.nz/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-data-and-statistics/covid-19-case-demographics
Under section 28(3) of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to
review any decisions made under this request. The Ombudsman may be
contacted by email at: [8][email address] or by calling 0800
802 602.

Dear OIA Requests,
Thank you for your reply it probably would hav e been more consise if you had sent me a copy of the encyclopedia britanica
what I am specifically after and what appears to be avoided is the basis on which you alledge that the vaccine prevented transmission to the extent tohat the vaccinated had to be kept apart from the unvaccinated
pfizer has now reported spcifically that this was not an attribute of the vaccine.
Many lives/relationships families were derstroyed and those who were not vaccinated were treated as leppers I want to know why the mandates ? given that the manufacturer claims this was never an attribute of the vaccine.
we were told there was science clearly pfizer did not have the science I just want to know what science the governent relied on , what the source of it was or was it simply speculation .
Please send only the specific docuements which were relied on , the actual scientific proof on which were segregated and our liberty was resticted
Yours sincerely,

Thank you for your follow-up email. Please see below a clarification of
the response you received.
what I am specifically after and what appears to be avoided is the basis
on which you alledge that the vaccine prevented transmission to the
extent tohat the vaccinated had to be kept apart from the unvaccinated
I want to know why the mandates ?
The two previous Official Information Act 1982 responses linked below
provide an overview of the rationale for the vaccination mandates.

o [2]www.health.govt.nz/system/files/documents/information-release/h202203767_20210940.pdf.
Specifically, please refer to Document 1 of the second response linked,
which provides a scientific overview of the mandates. That response letter
also sets out an explanation of the process for creating the Orders and
their purpose.

As stated in your response the scientific advice that Manatū Hauora relied
on is publicly available and published on the Manatū Hauora website. This
contains a wealth of information on the science behind the vaccine:

Dear OIA Requests,
thank you for your resaponse basically yo are saying there are throusands of pages on the internet go and find them.
I am refering to the period dec 2021 when vaccinated persons were told it was unsafe to mix with unvaccinated persons
the mandates were introduced I want to know what docuemnts that were relied on for the mandates that dictated that unvaccinated persons lives were restricted.
It is not about what was available on the internet it is about the information which was relied on to dictate such mandates .
If you did not have that information available you should simply say so if you did have the information please provide the information that was considered.
the documents at the link all post date the mandates
