Seeking Members for the Speed Management Committee

Would you like to play a part in reducing the amount of people killed and seriously injured on our streets and roads, and supporting healthy and active communities? Do you have knowledge, skills or experience relating to speed management and road safety?

Te Manatū Waka Ministry of Transport is seeking candidates, on behalf of the Minister of Transport, who would like to be considered for appointment as members of the new Speed Management Committee (the Committee).

As a member of the Committee, you will be involved in reviewing the draft State Highway speed management plan produced by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency (Waka Kotahi). The Committee provides independent advice to the Director of Land Transport on draft plans and on the speed management information and guidance Waka Kotahi provides. Members are appointed for terms of up to three years.

May I ask how did you call for public nomination and on what platform you have call for public nominations, e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many applications you have received from the public and how many you have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or ministry of women. How many you have shortlisted and how many positions you are intend to appoint.

We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible, and in any event no later than 30 January 2023 being 20 working days after the day your request was received. If we are unable to respond to your request by then, we will notify you of an extension of that timeframe.
