Oceans Cycle Trail Feasibility Study cost.

We have transferred first part (How much did it cost to perform the
Feasibility study) of your request to Mackenzie District Council. First
part of the request “How much did it cost to perform the Feasibility
study” is not held by us because Waitaki District Council were not
involved with the Trail back in 2010. This information is believed to be
held by Mackenzie District Council. In these circumstances, we are

This email is to seek clarification of your Official Information request
regarding Alps 2 Oceans Cycle Trail Feasibility Study – Costs.

 

With regard to your question How much did it cost to perform the
Feasibility study, both on its own, and as a percentage of the overall
cost of the Alps 2 Oceans Project?

Mackenzie District Council are able to provide you with the cost of the
Feasibility study.  In terms of the second half of the question as to the
percentage of the overall cost of the Alps 2 Ocean Project, this is a very
broad question. 

Can you please provide us with more information as to what you mean with
this question. Is this capital cost, or operating cost?  And over what
time frame?

 

The Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail has been constructed over a period of time,
and still has six sections that are not completed off road, so the project
is not complete.

 

We could refer you to Section 1.5 of the 2010 Feasibility Study report
which has the cost estimates for the project at that time.  The
construction estimate was $3,250,000.  So, the cost of the study at
$64,000 represents 1.97% of the total initial estimated cost.

Feasibility study.  In terms of the second half of the question as to the
percentage of the overall cost of the Alps 2 Ocean Project, this is a very
broad question. 

Can you please provide us with more information as to what you mean with
this question. Is this capital cost, or operating cost?  And over what
time frame?

 

The Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail has been constructed over a period of time,
and still has six sections that are not completed off road, so the project
is not complete.

 

We could refer you to Section 1.5 of the 2010 Feasibility Study report
which has the cost estimates for the project at that time.  The
construction estimate was $3,250,000.  So, the cost of the study at
$64,000 represents 1.97% of the total initial estimated cost.
