Dear Official Information,

Thank you for confirming.

If PARKS know about the parking regulations, why then are 15~ PARKS staff members routinely breaching the Parking Bylaw P389 Parked a motor vehicle on a cultivated area by parking on the reserve / berm area outside of their premises on Owaka Road and - by extension - bringing CCC into disrepute by not following the own regulations that they enforce?

Does CCC issue infringements to PARKS? How would this work if a PARKS vehicle needed to be towed, i.e. by PARKS?

Yours sincerely,

Cody C

Please find below a response to your LGOIMA request.

If Parks Towing vehicles are committing a stationary vehicle offence, then
we do issue infringement notices. Parking Compliance do not normally
request vehicles parking the grass to be towed.

Parking staff have visited the location and note that the grassed area is
not behind a kerb, so unless we erected no stopping signs, they can
legally park there. Also, it appears that the vehicles are personal
vehicles, not marked parks towing vehicles, and all but one of the
personal vehicles are compliant. The one that have not been moved, have
been given a warning.

You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review our
decision. Complaints can be sent by email to
