Thank you for your email. Inland Revenue's response to your questions is as follows:
a) Inland Revenue received your OIA request on 9 July 2023. However, due to an internal sorting error, your email was not allocated to the correct queue and this resulted in your email remaining unactioned. The sorting error was an inadvertent human mistake (not an automated error). On 8 August 2023, upon the receipt of your follow up email, Inland Revenue began the search to locate your original email. On 9 August, Inland Revenue located your letter and transferred it to the correct queue for processing. Once correctly allocated, the Governance, Ministerial & Executive Services team conducted the necessary research and internal consultation to ensure a response could be provided to you without further undue delay (6 working days).
b) As noted in my response of 24OIA1166, dated August 2023, the subscription service (the service) implemented as part of the Version 12 update to myIR is working as intended and no technical issue with the service exists. The service means tax agents will only receive notifications for customer accounts they have subscribed to. In order to receive notifications regarding customer accounts and manage mail subscriptions, I recommend you refer to our guide on our website: http://www.ird.govt.nz/roles/tax-agents/....

Subject: RE: Letter dated 18th May 2023 regarding Overdue Balance
Dear Amanda,
Thank you for your message.
An issue has been raised with our technical support team regarding this letter being marked as 'read'. This is likely due to an issue with our system marking the letter as read incorrectly and not a privacy breach.
Your clients myIR can only be accessed by their own myIR account or by a linked account. The only third party account linked to your clients is your agencies account. We have reviewed your clients myIR account and it does not appear unauthorised access from a third party has occurred.
We will contact you once this issue has been resolved or if we have any further information. If we do discover your clients privacy has been breached we will notify your client.
