Good morning Mr Harris
I refer to your OIA request of 12 October 2023 for the following
information:
I seek copies of any emails, reports, briefing notes, aides memoire or
similar that include the words "Chris Bishop" and "Hope so" between 1
September 2023 and 12 October 2023.
Kāinga Ora regularly receives media updates from a private company
(Truescope) that provides lists of links to media articles that relate to
Kāinga Ora or the wider housing/building sector. These emails contain no
additional commentary. Upon conducting a search of our systems for emails
within scope of your OIA, it captured around 200 of these Truescope emails
as they contain a link to an article regarding Chris Bishop and comments
he made. Could you please let us know if you would like to exclude these
from your OIA and focus on other emails and documents that contain the
phrases you specify in your request?
We’d appreciate a reply by 5pm Friday, 3 November.
Kind regards

Dear Kainga Ora Correspondence,
Please exclude the 200 Truescope emails that contain a link to an article regarding Chris Bishop and his his response "Hope so!" to a question about whether as Minister he wanted to sack staff at Kainga Ora.
Please focus on other emails and documents that contain the phrases specified in my request. Please only include Truescope emails if they include commentary from Kainga Ora staff. For example, if a staff member forwarded an email to colleagues with a comment like "I guess we need to start looking for new jobs" I would want this included.
One aspect I am trying to ascertain is the impact on the hardworking staff of Kainga Ora of the Mr Bishop's comments.
Yours sincerely,
Harris Leigh
