The covid 19 pandemic "full scale, wide ranging, independent inquiry conducted publicly..."
M Bell made this Official Information request to Winston Peters
The request was refused by Winston Peters.
From: M Bell
Dear Winston Peters,
This OIA request is starting with the assumption that the NZ Pfizer C19 contract(s) in existence contain essentially the same extreme indemnity clauses and waiver of sovereign immunity as the extant documents from other countries where the contracts have been leaked, provided by court order etc.
Please confirm whether there is such an extreme indemnification and immunity that has been signed away in the NZ version Pfizer C19 contract documents?
Please confirm whether the promised coming “full scale, wide ranging, independent inquiry conducted publicly with local and international experts” will involve the appropriateness and legality of granting the extreme immunity to Pfizer?
If you are unable to answer these questions, please confirm whether this is because you personally have signed a confidentiality agreement which prevents you from doing so?
In the coming inquiry factual responses are vitally needed for transparency yet because of the tendency to retreat behind confidentiality agreements to avoid self incrimination true transparency is in danger. Please advise what is planned to be in place to ensure that the inquiry overrides those confidentiality agreements signed by politicians and other public servants and hence compel factual responses from those called to do so?
As the Pfizer documents likely also forbid bringing Pfizer themselves into any disrepute what is planned to be in place to override this and compel factual responses regardless?
Yours faithfully,
M Bell
