Dear Elise Campbell, 

 

Thank you for your email received 31 January 2024 in which you submitted
an Official Information Act request as follows: 

I am emailing to request correspondence between yourself and the Prime
Minister's Office as well as the Ministry of Defence, relating to
decisions about funding for UNRWA, specifically for the period from
24/01/2024 to 31/01/24. If there are any memoranda about phone
conversations held, this would be helpful, in addition to any emails
exchanged.

I am requesting this information as it appears there is a disconnect
between what has been said by Prime Minister Christopher Luxon about a
potential funding pause and what has been said by yourself. I am seeking
clarity on how this decision was made and what parties have been involved.

We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible and in
any event no later than 29 February 2024, being 20 working days after the
day your request was received. If we are unable to respond to your request
by then, we will notify you of an extension of that timeframe.
