SIS response to zionist attacks on Gaza
Mohammed Khan made this Official Information request to New Zealand Security Intelligence Service
The request was refused by New Zealand Security Intelligence Service.
From: Mohammed Khan
Dear New Zealand Security Intelligence Service,
On October 19, 2023, Andrew Hampton stated that the terrorism threat remained low following the escalation of the 'Israeli' attacks on Palestine. According to the Post, the "[SIS] and police had been meeting with representatives of faith and ethnic communities with connections to the conflict". Since then we have seen multiple violent assaults by 'Israel' supporters on those who support human rights, including the attack on a young boy in November.
1) How many meetings have SIS had since October 7 2023 with zionist lobby groups- the Israel Institute of New Zealand, Israeli embassy, Community Security Group, and Jewish Federation of New Zealand? Breaking this down by group would be appreciated.
2) How many meetings have SIS had since October 7 2023 with groups representing the human rights and interests of Muslim and Arab New Zealanders, such as the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand?
Regards,
Mohammed

Dear OIA Privacy,
Thanks, so to confirm, you haven't met with Arab or Muslim community groups, but have with representatives of those perpetrating the genocide against the Palestinian people?
Yours sincerely,
Mohammed Khan

Tēnā koe,
Our previous response stated that we meet with a broad range of faith-based and ethnic community groups on a regular basis. It is entirely incorrect to assume, as you have suggested, that we have met with some groups and not others. We reiterate that we do not release information about the specifics of these meetings in order to maintain the trust and confidence of all groups we meet with.
Ngā mihi,
NZSIS
