Regarding Road Repair on Spinnaker Drive

 

Dear Porirua Council,

I am writing to you to request information under both the Official
Information Act and the Local Government Official Information and Meetings
Act 1987 concerning the lack of action to fix the intersection and end of
Spinnaker Drive that connects to SH58. As a concerned resident, I find it
troubling that this road has remained unrepaired for over a year now,
causing inconvenience and potentially hazardous conditions for
pedestrians.

Specifically, I am seeking clarification on the following points:

1. Responsibility: Could you please clarify whether the responsibility for
repairing Spinnaker Drive lies with the Porirua Council or the NZTA?

2. Delay: I am interested in understanding the reasons behind the
prolonged delay in addressing the repair needs of Spinnaker Drive. What
factors have contributed to this delay?

3. Legal Obligations: I would appreciate insight into the legal
obligations that the council is bound by in terms of maintaining road
infrastructure and addressing issues within a reasonable timeframe.

4. Ratepayer Dispensation: Despite the lack of access to Spinnaker Drive,
it appears that local ratepayers have not received any dispensation or
relief. Could you provide clarification on this matter?

Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated, as the safety
and convenience of residents are paramount. I look forward to receiving a
comprehensive response to my inquiries.

last request towards fixing the road at Spinnaker Drive, Whitby.

I request under what Act the council is required to fix the road under,
along with any legislation on what is a reasonable timeframe for this to
happen.
