Workplace diseases and Schedule 2 of the ACC act 2001
Erika Whittome made this Official Information request to Ministry of Health
Response to this request is long overdue. By law Ministry of Health should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.
From: Erika Whittome
Dear Ministry of Health,
I see this page dated 18 Mar 2024 from the MoH says that infectious diseases like the flu are now "workplace hazards".
https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/dise...
"Any infectious disease encountered in the workplace is considered a workplace hazard."
Kindly share the all the memos, emails, correspondence, legal advice etc that took place for this page to be published and this statement "Any infectious disease encountered in the workplace is considered a workplace hazard.".
The list workplace diseases is here on the ACC act 2001 https://www.legislation.govt.nz/act/publ...
Yours faithfully,
Erika Whittome

Dear Mr Knipe,
A complaint has been made to the Ombudsman because the requested information has not been supplied.
Also I’ve still never seen any designations given to the MoH for workplace safety under section 191 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
Currently it’s Worksafe who is the regulator for all things “health and safety” in workplaces.
There are fines for impersonating agents in this act as well.
Yours sincerely,
Erika Whittome
