Dear Samantha,

I'm writing regarding your 8 May request for information from the Ministry
of Business, Innovation and Employment, under the Official Information Act
1982. I'd just like to clarify the nature of the information that you are
requesting.

You have asked for information on how overseas jurisdictions have
influenced the changes to the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance
Amendment Act 2014 —  in particular, discussions with overseas
authorities. As that Act was only recently enacted and has not been
amended, I’m unsure of which changes you’re referring to. It would be
helpful if you could specify what they are, so that we’re able to provide
you with the right information. For example, you may be referring to:

-          changes to the Credit Contracts and Financial Services Law
Reform Bill throughout the parliamentary process, prior to the enactment
of the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Amendment Act;

-          changes to the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003,
as a result of the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Amendment Act; or

-          other changes to legislation.

Please feel free to reply to me directly; happy to give you a call if
you’d like to discuss this.

Thanks,

Ema
