Local Government Official Information Request

 

I refer to your email below in which you requested a list of all camping
grounds which Council has issued a camping ground licence in the past 3
years.

 

I advise that we have not issued any camping ground licences in the past
three years. 

 

For your information, we advise that we have two current licences that
were issued more than three years ago. 

 

These campgrounds are as follows:

 

Dunedin Holiday Park

Part Ocean Beach Domain being Local Purpose Reserve (Coastal Conservation)
located at

41A Tahuna Road, St Kilda, Dunedin

The lease from Council is under Section 61 of the Reserves Act 1977

 

Waikouaiti Campground

Part Waikouaiti Domain being Recreation Reserve located at 186 Beach
Street, Waikouaiti.

The lease from Council is under Section 59A of the Reserves Act 1977.

 

As these are operated as campgrounds, they are required to comply with the
relevant laws and regulations applying to campgrounds, including the
Camping-Grounds Regulations 1985.

 

Please note freedom camping has separate legislation – the Freedom Camping
Act 2011 as well as local authority bylaws.

Could you kindly provide a list of all camping grounds which Council has
issued a camping ground licence in the past 3 years in accordance with the
Camping Ground Regulations 1985.

any camping grounds are operated by Council or subject to a lease with
Council.
