I write about your LGOIMA request received 23 June 2024 requesting
information about cameras and commercial relationships.

 

Please find below the answers to your questions raised.

 

How many cameras with automatic number plate recognition capability have
been installed on roads, streets, intersections, traffic lights, light
posts, and other Council property with Dunedin City Council’s approval in
the last five years?

 

The Dunedin City Council (DCC) has no cameras with automatic number plate
recognition capability installed on roads, streets, intersections, traffic
lights or light posts.  Three automatic number plate recognition cameras
have been installed in the Great King Street carpark building.

 

 

How many cameras with automatic number plate recognition are operating in
Dunedin City with the Dunedin City Council’s approval?

 

The three DCC automatic number plate recognition cameras installed in the
Great King Street carpark building are operational.

 

 

Does the Dunedin City Council own these cameras, lease these cameras, or
are they owned by another company?

 

DCC owns the three automatic number plate recognition cameras installed in
the Great King Street carpark building.

 

 

For the cameras operating on roads, streets, intersections, traffic
lights, light posts, and other Dunedin City Council property which are
owned by companies rather that Dunedin City Council, what are the names
and NZBN numbers for those companies.

 

NZTA, Downer and Vivacity cameras operate around areas such as roads,
streets, intersections, traffic lights and light posts.  We own the
equipment on DCC properties.  We do not hold the NZBN numbers for the
companies listed.

 

 

Which third parties does Dunedin City Council provide data, images, or
footage collected with cameras operating on roads, streets, intersections,
traffic lights, light posts, and other Dunedin City Council property?

 

Requests for cctv footage are managed on a case-by-case basis by the DCC
Privacy Officers.  Live footage from the street camera network is streamed
to the Dunedin Central Police Station.  Traffic cameras can be accessed by
some Wellington Transport Operations Centre staff at NZTA.

 

 

Does Dunedin City Council provide data, images, or footage to Auror
Limited, Datacom Group Ltd, vGRID, SaferCities, or Safe City Group
Limited?

 

No

supplying data, images, or footage to vGRID, SaferCities, and/or Safe City
Group Limited?

How many cameras does Dunedin City Council have in 2024 which are

supplying data, images, or footage to Datacom Group Ltd?

Limited and what was the dollar value of contracts and total financial
transactions (revenue and expenditure) with Auror Limited in the 2022/2023
financial year?

Group Ltd and what was the dollar value of contracts and total financial
transactions (revenue and expenditure) with Datacom Group Ltd in the
