Request for the NZ Pfizer Contract between the New Government and Pfizer for the supply of the Covid-19 vaccine
Cathryn made this Official Information request to Ministry of Health
The request was refused by Ministry of Health.
From: Cathryn
Dear Ministry of Health,
I would like to request the NZ Pfizer contract between the New Zealand Government and Pfizer for the supply of the Covid-19 vaccine and all information relating to the vaccines administered in New Zealand.
With increased public interest for this information, many are seeking to understand more on what is stated in the contract between Pfizer and the New Zealand Government, which does not appear to be publicly available for anyone to find. It is in the best interests of New Zealanders to have full transparency of the Covid-19 vaccines, and the contract between the parties.
Yours faithfully,
Kathryn Nicol

Kia ora Kathryn,
The information you have requested is withheld in full under the following
sections of the Act:
o Section 9(2)(b)(ii), where its release would likely unreasonably
prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied the
information;
o Section 9(2)(ba)(ii), to protect information that is subject to an
obligation of confidence and making it available would likely damage
the public interest; and
o Section 9(2)(c), to avoid prejudice to measures to protect the health
or safety of the public.
I have considered the countervailing public interest in release in making
this decision and consider that it does not outweigh the need to withhold
at this time.
