Drivers Licences Sought As I.D

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Ministry of Social Development should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

Dear Ministry of Social Development,
Clients are being asked to provide their drivers licence as I.D even after being long term clients. Whanganui office sending out email requesting this be done. That office doesn’t know why / isn’t saying why and has not responded to requests for several months now.
1. Why is MSD asking to have long term clients produce drivers licence documents for identification or any purpose please?
