Kia ora Robert

Thank you for your request below.

With the way your request is currently worded, we are unsure what
information in particular you are seeking. As per guidance from the Office
of the Ombudsman, information you are requesting must be specified with
‘due particularity’. This means that the person receiving the request must
be able to identify the information you have asked for. A request that
lacks due particularity will not be valid and the requirements of the Act
will not apply.

Further, under the Act a distinction exists between a request for
information already known and held by an agency (official information),
versus a request for an agency to form an opinion or provide an
explanation or comment, and thus create new information to answer a
request (not official information). Your request, as it stands, asks ACC
to provide an explanation or justification and is therefore not considered
to be requesting official information under the Act.

Please refer to the following Ombudsman guide Making official information
Requests A guide for requesters:

In the meantime, in the hopes of providing you with some information about
the OCL, we refer you to our Annual Report which can be viewed here:

Please come back to us if you are seeking further information.
