Number of landlords who own properties in NZ
Sarah Bierre made this Official Information request to Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Sarah Bierre to read a recent response and update the status.
From: Sarah Bierre
Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,
I would like to understand current data on the number of landlords in NZ.
1. How many current bonds are lodged?
2. Can I have the breakdown of number of bonds lodged per landlord? e.g How many have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5-9, 10-14 15-19, 20+
3. I would like to exclude public and community housing. If this is not possible, please include these landlords in a separate category: Kāinga Ora, Salvation Army, Te Āhuru Mōwai, Accessible properties, Te Toi Mahana, Ōtautahi Community Housing Trust (OCHT), TRC (Tāmaki Regeneration Company).
4. What percentage of the total number of private rentals in NZ are owned by landlords that own 2+ and 3+ properties? (This could use bond data).
Yours faithfully,
Sarah Bierre
