Reducing transmission - Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine trials

M.R.M. made this Official Information request to Health New Zealand

The request was refused by Health New Zealand.

From: M.R.M.

Dear Health New Zealand,

On 10 September 2021 a Mr Nick Allan, Manager OIA Services, Office of the Director General, Health NZ, wrote a letter to a woman identified by the first name "Josephine" that has been publically shared on the social media platform "X". In this document he advised her that; "Reducing transmission was not an outcome measured in trials of the Pfizer vaccine." It is against this background that I am requesting the following information under the OIA:-

1. A copy or copies of the document/s which confirm the exact date on which the N.Z. government first became aware that reducing transmission was not an outcome measured in trials of the Pfizer vaccine.

2. A copy or copies of the document/s in which the N.Z. government first became aware that the Pfizer vaccine did not reduce transmission.

3. A copy or copies of the document/s which confirm the exact date on which the N.Z. government first became aware that reducing transmission had (subsequent to the date applicable in 1. above) changed into an outcome measured in trials of the Pfizer vaccine.

Yours faithfully,

M.R.M.
