From: Erika Whittome
Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,
I am interested in information from the Employment Relations Authority whch comes under the umbrella of MBIE.
From mid 2021 until Sept 2022 the Covid-19 Public Health Response (vaccinations) Order and Border Orders were in effect were in effect that required certain roles to be performed only by vaccinated or exempt workers. MBIE also had advice that employers could require vaccination according to their website until approximately Dec 2023 here https://web.archive.org/web/202302012126...
In November 2023 the new coalition government pledged to end vaccine mandates.
1. Please share how many employment relationship investigation meetings have been about vaccine mandates in the ERA for the years 2021, 2022, 2023 and to today 2024.
2. For each year, how many determinations have been in favour of the employee refusing vaccination?
3. For each year, how many have been in favour of the employer requiring vaccination?
4. Which ERA members made the decisions above in 3 & 4 for each year?
5. How many decisions by year have had name suppression/non publication?
Yours faithfully,
Erika Whittome
