Dear Ministry of Justice,
I noted, https://www.justice.govt.nz/about/statut...
Environment Court - Environment Commissioner
The Attorney-General is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons for appointment as an Environment Commissioner. There is some flexibility in terms of where the successful candidate may reside, and a part time role may be considered.
The Environment Court is a specialist Court with jurisdiction over environmental and resource management matters.
While familiarity with the Resource Management Act would be an advantage, it is not a pre-requisite and most importantly you will bring strong mediation and decision-making experience.
Importantly, you will possess excellent communication skills, mental agility, self-confidence and be able to work effectively with colleagues and the registry that supports the work of the Court.
It is expected that any successful candidate will either have, or will be committed to undertaking steps to enable, familiarity with the appropriate use of Tikanga Maori and the use of Te Reo within the Court. (external link)
May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many applications you have received from the public and how many you have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for your role. May I also seek a copy of the ad went out to public and the appointment letter sent to the appointee (not need to be this round, any previous one as an example would be ok), feel free to redact any personal information.
Yours faithfully,
john luke
