CCTV and ANPR Cameras

Dear Bay of Plenty Regional Council,

I am writing to request the following information (for a total of 4 requests):

1. A list of all public facing CCTV cameras owned or operated by Bay of Plenty Regional Council (BOPRC) and Council Controlled Organisations (CCOs) where possible.

2. A list of all Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras owned or operated by BOPRC and CCOs where possible.

For each camera identified by requests 1 and 2, please include in a spreadsheet the GPS coordinates, a description of the location, and the brand and type of camera (e.g. Axis PTZ 360).

3. A list of all planned public facing CCTV cameras to be installed by or on behalf of BOPRC and CCOs where possible.

4. A list of all planned ANPR cameras to be installed by or on behalf of BOPRC and CCOs where possible.

For each camera identified by requests 3 and 4, please include in a spreadsheet the GPS coordinates of and/or a description of the planned location, the brand and type of camera (e.g. Axis PTZ 360) to be installed, and the planned installation date or timeframe if known.

RE: ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF YOUR INFORMATION REQUEST 24-0159

 

Thank you for your request for information dated 25^th November 2024 which
was received by the Bay of Plenty Regional Council (Council) on 26^th
November 2024.

 

Your request for information is being considered as a request under the
Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA).

 

We will make a decision on your request and communicate this decision to
you as soon as reasonably practicable and no later than 15^th January 2025
which is 20 working days after the day on which we received your request
as per section 13(1) LGOIMA.  We will then make available any information
we decide to release to you without undue delay.

 

The response date shown takes into account:

 1. Summer holidays (20 December to 10 January)

 

 

We are entitled to charge for a request for information if we consider it
is reasonable to do so.  If we decide to charge you for the information
requested then we are not obligated to release the information to you if
you do not agree to pay the charge.

 

Our LGOIMA responses may be published on the Council website.  If we do
this, we will not publish the requester’s personal or contact details.

RE: RESPONSE TO YOUR INFORMATION REQUEST 24-0159

 

1. Please find attached a spreadsheet that lists all CCTV cameras owned
and operated by the Bay of Plenty Regional Council that are public facing.
Please note these are located at each of our offices and depots for the
purpose of internal and external building security.

 

2. BOPRC do not have any CCTV cameras that are used for Automatic Number
Plate Recognition (ANPR). All of our public facing CCTV cameras are the
Hikvision brand.

 

3. BOPRC have no additional public facing cameras planned for
installation.

 

4. BOPRC have no additional ANPR cameras planned for installation.
