and comes under the [1]Vehicle Lighting rule.

Definition of a cosmetic lamp in the rule:

vehicle provided that the lamps meet the general safety requirements and;

o Not positioned within 250mm of any mandatory lamp
o Mounted in a fixed position.
o No light emitting surface is visible within the shaded areas as seen
below;

In regard to a cosmetic lamps performance, they must not flash, vary in
intensity or colour, revolve, rotates or moves, dazzle or confuse other
motorists. All which are common behaviours of Christmas lights.

Christmas lights do not comply with the lighting rule and is an
enforcement issue if fitted to the vehicle.
