Character requirement for Israeli visa holders

Paul Campbell made this Official Information request to Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Paul Campbell to read recent responses and update the status.

From: Paul Campbell

Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,

Visa applicants for Israel Working Holiday Visas are required to be of good character which according to Immigration NZ's website explicitly requires applicants to not have been "involved in human rights abuse activities".

I have 4 questions:

- how many current or reservist IDF soldiers have applied for Israel Working Holiday Visas
- How many of these have been granted
- How many applicants for this visa have declared that they may have been "involved in human rights abuse activities"
- Have any of those applicants been issued a "character waiver"? and under who's direction were those waivers issued?

Yours faithfully,

Paul Campbell
