Waikato Medical School Degree

Dear University of Waikato,

I would like to request the following information:

1. I am aware that the Waikato Medical School is just a proposal/business case at the time of writing. However, I would like to know whether there is a name or shortlisted names for the medical degree.
- If there is no proposed name(s) for the degree, why not considering there has been plenty of time for a comprehensive business proposal?

2. Will the degree be called MBChB (graduate entry only) to remain in line with the other two medical schools in New Zealand for uniformity? Or will it be a master’s degree, and if so why?

3. What is the rationale for the proposed name(s) of the degree?

4. Has input been sought from medical education experts on this matter?

5. If there is a shortlist of potential degree names, what are the pros and cons of each that has been considered?
