Ministry of Health
Dear Beryl Beauchamp
Thank you for your OIA request of 17 July 2016 (ref H201602926). You
requested:
* a list of any reports prepared specifically for the Ministry of Health
in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 provided by the following
firms KPMG, Ernst & Young, Pricewaterhousecoopers, Deloitte, McKinsey,
or Boston Consulting Group.
*
* I request that the list of reports contain the name of the report, a
short summary of the purpose of the report, and total cost incurred by
the Ministry in commissioning the report.
The request as it stands is likely to be declined under section 18(f) of
the Official Information Act 1982, because the information requested
cannot be made available without substantial collation or research. If it
is possible for you to narrow the scope of your request (either by
selecting a shorter timeframe and/or specifying a topic), we may be able
to provide you with information.
Even with your request narrowed, we may still need to narrow it further,
extend the amount of time necessary to respond, or even refuse the
request. We are happy to continue discussing how we might be able to
provide you with the information you seek, and will provide you with
further opportunity to rescope the request if we feel it necessary.
I look forward to your advice clarifying the OIA request.
Kind regards,
Liz McMillan

From: Beryl Beauchamp
Dear Ministry of Health,
I note that other agencies, such as Treasury regularly report on their use of contractors to the Finance and Expenditure Committee. Example here https://www.parliament.nz/resource/en-nz...
If the Ministry of Health reports its use of consultants to the F&E committee or has information collated in a similar way (in another corporate document) to the example above I would be happy to amend my request to ask for copies of those reports, where available, for the years 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016. I will then go through these documents and identify KPMG, Ernst & Young, Pricewaterhousecoopers, Deloitte, McKinsey, or Boston Consulting Group myself.
If the Ministry of Health is unable to furnish my amended request I ask that the original request stand.
Yours faithfully,
Beryl Beauchamp
