‘Please provide all information in relation to the following:

 

·        The number of claimants which have been required to sign a
"confidentiality agreement" (this may include, but not be limited to stop
claimants from criticising the agency)

·        Why claimants are required to sign a "confidentiality agreement"
in relation to repairs.’

I wish to draw your attention to Section 18B of the Offical Information
Act 1982.

 

If a request is likely to be refused under section 18(e) or (f), the
department, Minister of the Crown, or organisation must, before that
request is refused, consider whether consulting with the person who made
the request would assist that person to make the request in a form that
would remove the reason for the refusal.

 

While I am rejecting your rationale for declining the information, how
many types of agreements does EQC hold for earthquake settlements?
