Dear Accident Compensation Corporation,

 

I refer you to the ICD-10 Diagnostic Code:     G57.01    Lesion of sciatic
nerve, right lower limb (Piriformis Syndrome, aka Pseudosciatia)

 

OIA Request:

 

I respectfully request your assistance in confirming the corresponding
equivalent Diagnostic Read Code that applies to the ICD- 10 Injury
Diagnostic Code:  G57.01    Lesion of sciatic nerve, right lower limb
(Piriformis Syndrome, aka Pseudosciatia), that ACC accepts from treatment
providers.

 

I have checked through the 606 pages of the full Read Codes that the
Corporation kindly provided via [4]www.FYI.org.nz, but with there being
over 33,000 codes in total spread over 606 pages, I have been unable to
locate the specific ACC read code that applies a treatment providers
diagnosis of Piriformis Syndrome following accidental trauma.

 

I have located the Read Code of N143. Sciatica, however I am unsure
whether there is a more specific Read Code that covers irritation and or
the lesion of the sciatic nerve caused by the spasming of, or trauma to
the piriformis muscle which is located in the buttocks.

 

I appreciate your time and assistance and respectfully request that my
request be responded to under urgency within the next 10 working days,
being by the end of business close on 4th August 2017, with my reason
being so that I can formally lodge pursuant to Section 48 (a), (b) and (c
) of the ACC Act 2001 claims for cover and entitlements for a number of
classes of injuries sustained, and so as allow me to access the correct
assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for these injuries.
