Dear New Zealand Police,

I am a NZ citizen, resident in Cambridge, New Zealand, I make this request under the Official Information Act.

With reference to the recently introduced https://www.civildefence.govt.nz/get-rea... of which the NZ Police are listed as an authorized agency to issue alerts, I seek a copy of the policy (or guidelines, or other similar document) governing the usage and issuance of Emergency Mobile Alerts (EMA) by the New Zealand Police.

If such a policy or guidelines does not exist, please provide details on any training that has been provided to NZ policy personnel on the usage of the EMA system. In particular any training material or supporting documentation that covers the decision making process for when to or when not to issue an EMA.
