Thank you for answering my request about information about Operations Takapu and Troy.

One of the documents you provided was a cabinet paper from September 2015, NZDF tracking number 373/15, titled "New Zealand Defence Force Contributions to Maritime Security Operations in the Middle East Region 2015-2020.

Several parts of this relevant document were deleted as "out of scope". As the person making the request I consider that I should be the person who makes that judgement, not the Defence Force. I note that "out of scope" is not a grounds for refusing to provide information set out in the Official Information Act.

Please provide a complete copy of this cabinet paper without redactions and without "out of scope" removals.

Can you also please confirm that there are no briefings, email, letter or reports leading to the decision to proceed with Operations Troy and Takapu in 2003. If there are, in fact, such reports, etc., please provide them.
