Dear Government Services,
Your response of 22 May 2018 is noted and I see that in your attached letter dated the same you have advised of the requirement of an extra 20 working days through until the 25 June 2018, to action my Official Information Request, citing section 15 A of the Official Information Act, based on what you have stated as being a large quantity of information requested, and the necessity for ACC to have to work through a large quantity of information.
I draw to your attention that I have only asked for full copies of 3 contracts for services in relation to ACC's contracts for services with their predominant disputes resolution provider of the day, being;
1. DRSL as at 1 July 2004,
2. FairWay Resolution Limited as at 1 July 2012, and
3. FairWay Resolution Limited/FairWay Resolution Holdings Limited (please confirm the correct company name for the privately owned dispute resolution company that is known publicly as FairWay Resolution Limited that was in force as at 31 August 2017.
In response to you citing section 15 A of the OIA to extend the period of time to respond to my initial request by a period of 20 working days, I respectfully ask that you confirm back to me under urgency within the next 3 working days, as to whether any of the service contracts that I have requested copies for and named in my original OIA request and re summarized above are stored and held by ACC (or any associated department that oversees aspects of ACC) in computer text document format, for example, in a word document, or in a rtfd document, or in a PDF document , or in a Zip document or another document format, which can be released under the Official Information Act through the FYI site in response to my request.
If so please advise which format the contract for services are stored and held in, and why ACC would be unable to release these three contracts to me through www.FYI.Org.nz in the current document format that they are stored in within the period afforded to ACC from the date of my original OIA request .
In the event that any or all of the above contracts for services that I have requested provision of are in fact stored in a computer compatible text documented format which can be disseminated to me through the FYI website, ACC would not be required to search through a large amount of information, but would only have to release the three documents concerned, which could be done efficiently and without any further delay exceeding the 20 working days that commenced on the 30 April 2018.
Therefore, if the contracts for services that I have requested on the 30 April 2018 are in a computer/electronic transferrable document format, I would appreciate ACC providing me with the information requested in full within the 20 working days from the 30 April 2018.
I await your urgent response under the 3 day urgency requested to provide me with confirmation as to ACC's methods of how the 3 contracts for services that I have requested are currently stored in electronic/computer document form, and if they are that ACC will meet the original 20 day timeframe afforded ACC from 30 April 2018 to provide me via www.FYI.org.nz in full the official information requested on the 30 April 2018.
Yours sincerely,
David Lawson
