Thank you for your request made under the Local Government Official
Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA), dated 27 June 2018. You
requested:

 

·       the number of people employed in your public library service.

·       the number of people employed in your public library service being
paid less than $20.55 per hour.

 

As at 28 June 2018 170 staff are employed in the Wellington City Council
public library service. Of these, 13 library staff are currently being
paid less than $20.55 per hour.

 

I note that all Wellington City Council staff are currently paid no less
than the 2017 Living Wage of $20.20 per hour. In April, the 2018 Living
Wage was announced as $20.55 per hour. Council will adjust employee
remuneration in August to ensure all employees receive the new living wage
rate, this adjustment will be back dated to 1 July 2018.
