New Zealand Post Limited
Dear Mr Pleasants
Please also find attached the response to your OIA request of 5 November 2018, including relevant documentation.
I am also writing to you to update you on postal services in the Wellington region.
NZ Post and Kiwibank are both working through our long-term strategies for our physical locations around New Zealand. NZ Post is committed to providing postal services in Lower Hutt, Johnsonville and Petone, and are looking for local businesses to help us with options to deliver postal services and bill payment services currently available in those communities. Whilst we look for businesses to partner with, we want to reassure our customers that there will be no change to our services.
NZ Post successfully works with many local businesses throughout New Zealand to provide postal services so that we can continue to operate a sustainable business for New Zealand communities. We will keep the community and our stakeholders informed as dates are known and once arrangements are confirmed.
Kiwibank will be developing a stand-alone branch at the existing Lower Hutt NZ Post & Kiwibank branch and will be withdrawing services from Johnsonville and Petone branches.
Attached is our media release that will be released at 1PM today.
Kind regards
Diana
