Dear Ministry of Social Development,
I would like to request information regarding:
The purpose of randomly selecting recipients of student allowance for evidence of income during a specific week.
The date of the last review of this process of 'randomly selecting recipients of student allowance for evidence of income during a specific week' and whether alternative methods of acquiring this information were examined.
The process by which random selection occurs.
Any policies, training materials or guidlines for staff on how to deal with submitted evidence that does not fit the current framework, i.e. people paid monthly or sporadically.

An OIA request that I sent to the Ministry of Social Development on the 30th November 2018 recieved a reply including the following information:
"Please note that the period commencing 25 December 2018 and ending 15 January 2019 does not count as 'working days' as defined in section 2 of the Official Information Act 1982. Due to this holiday, a decision about your response would be due on 21 January 2019."
As this request was sent four days early I believe that I should have recieved a reply by the 15th January 2019 which is now overdue.
