Dear Mr Bokulic
Official Information Request – RFS 3937288
Thank you for your enquiry 21 February 2019. Your request has been
referred to Legal Services for consideration under the provisions of the
Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (“the
LGOIMA”).
Your request
I am requesting the following statistical information from the Animal
Management team for dogs being picked up and not recorded in the
impounding register for each of the months of October 2018, November 2018,
December 2018, January 2019 and February 2019. The figures requested are:
1. Returned to owner
2. Sent to a vet for Euthanasia
3. Died in Transit
4. Given to an recognised external rescue agency
5. Handed over to an individual (not associated to any rescue agency)
6. Escaped from custody
7. Total Number
Our response
The only dogs that are NOT recorded on the impounding register in Pathways
are young puppies that come with their mother (or are born at our
shelters). All other situations as listed above are recorded. Accordingly,
we must refuse your request pursuant to section 17(e) as the information
requested – “dogs being picked up and not recorded” - does not exist.
Thank you for your enquiry.
Yours faithfully
Legal Services
