Geoff Scott Investigation II
Ross Francis made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police
The request was partially successful.
From: Ross Francis
Dear New Zealand Police,
I would like to make the following informaton request.
On 16 April 2018, Detective Inspector David Kirby provided me with a copy of a police job sheet. Only one page was provided despite it comprising several pages. Please provide me with all pages of the job sheet. Mr Kirby’s response can be found here:
https://fyi.org.nz/request/7128-official...
In a letter dated 2 February 1994, the then Detective Constable John Price advised Dr Karen Zelas that he and the Crown solicitor, Ken Stone, would be “travelling to Christchurch shortly to meet with you and others involved in the Civic Creche Case”. This was in the context of the police investigation into Geoff Scott. On 4 March 1994, Wellington police travelled to Christchurch and met with Dr Zelas and, in possibly a separate meeting, met with Christchurch police who had been involved in the Peter Ellis case. Wellington police later met with Crown prosecutor Brent Stanaway on the same day. Please supply me with all information held about these meetings.
On 14 March 1994, Dr Zelas sent Mr Price a copy of a questionnaire for parents (whose children had attended the Wellington Hospital day care centre) about their children’s “sexual behaviours”. Please supply me with a copy of that questionnaire.
Have police lost or destroyed any records pertaining to the Geoff Scott case?
Yours faithfully,
Ross Francis
