Evidence requirements for attempts to recruit New Zealanders.
F Taylor made this Official Information request to Kris Faafoi
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for F Taylor to read a recent response and update the status.
From: F Taylor
Dear Kris Faafoi,
I would like to know how immigration NZ perform the following work:
"The content of your job advertisements and offer must not discourage New Zealand workers from applying. Otherwise a work visa application will be declined.
Immigration New Zealand will check whether New Zealand workers were unwilling to take up the job because of the terms and conditions of your offer, like pay or hours of work."
(From this page https://www.immigration.govt.nz/employ-m...)
Specifically:
How does INZ find the pay offer for job listings on websites where the salary is often hidden, like linkedin or seek.co.nz?
How does INZ determine what is appropriate pay for the role? e.g. What salary and income data is used to compare the pay offer to to assess if it's fair?
Yours faithfully,
Fred

Kia ora,
On behalf of Hon Kris Faafoi, thank you for your email.
While the Minister considers all correspondence to be important, and all
messages are carefully read and considered, it is not always possible to
personally reply to all emails. As such, the following guidelines apply:
· Invitations and meeting requests will be processed as soon as
possible and a staff member will be in contact with you in due course
· All media queries will be responded to by a staff member
· Requests for official information will be managed in accordance
with the provisions of the Official Information Act 1982, which may
include transfer to a more relevant Minister or agency
· If your email falls outside of the Minister’s portfolio
responsibilities, expresses a personal view, or is copied to multiple
Members of Parliament, then your opinion will be noted and your
correspondence may be transferred to another office, or there may be no
further response to you
Thank you for the taking the time to write.
Nga mihi,
Office of Hon Kris Faafoi

Well, that appears to be a particularly unhelpful response. Three of the four links provided look to be internal MBIE Intranet links.
At least the links are live I suppose.
