Are items embargoed under Act
David Nicholas made this Official Information request to Department of Internal Affairs
The request was successful.
From: David Nicholas
Dear Department of Internal Affairs,
Under the Archives Act 1957 which has been updated several times. There is power within the Act for the Director of Archives to not allow access to documents, and that some documents have a cover sheet that states documents are embargoed to a set date in time i.e. 2050.
Can you please advise, how many items are covered by an embargo
and briefly describe why it has been embargoed.
Yours faithfully,
David Nicholas
