Dear Ministry of Health,

 

Can the Ministry of Health please provide all of the
treaties/contracts/MOU's or anything of this nature that New Zealand has
signed up to or is linked with whereby global vaccination is promoted
whether that be the WHO, UN or NGO's.

Can you also include if the Pfizer contract between the NZ Government and
Pfizer has a clause whereby the government is to mandate the vaccine
through coercion or effectively making NZ citizens second class citizens
as per the PM's recent comments.  This a yes answer question only.

Please provide links or the paperwork to each and every individual
treaty/MOU or the like or anything of this nature fitting this
description.

Response to your request for official information 

 

Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act) to the Ministry of Health (the Ministry) on 27 October 2021 for
information regarding the vaccinations in New Zealand.  

 

You specifically requested:  

 

Please provide all of the treaties/contracts/MOU's or anything of this
nature that New Zealand has signed up to or is linked with whereby global
vaccination is promoted whether that be the WHO, UN or NGO's. 

 

All treaties that New Zealand is a signatory to or party to are publicly
available on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade website at:
[1]www.treaties.mfat.govt.nz/.   

Can you also include if the Pfizer contract between the NZ Government and
Pfizer has a clause whereby the government is to mandate the vaccine

The Ministry is unable to provide you with a copy of the
Pfizer contract due to commercial sensitivity. Therefore, your request is
withheld under the following sections of the Act:  

* section 9(2)(b)(ii) as its release would likely unreasonably prejudice
the commercial position of the person who supplied the
information.    
* section 9(2)(ba)(ii) to protect information that is subject to an
obligation of confidence and making it available would likely damage
the public interest.  

Although the Ministry appreciates the high degree of public interest in
its vaccination programme and the Pfizer vaccine, this does not outweigh
the need to protect the commercial sensitivity of the information in the
agreement.  However, the Ministry can confirm that the Government’s
agreement with Pfizer does not include clauses that refer to mandating the
vaccine.
