REQUEST FOR INFORMATION - LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL INFORMATION AND MEETINGS ACT 1987: ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF REQUEST

I am writing to acknowledge receipt of your official information request dated 28 November 2022 for information regarding credit card surcharges imposed on rates payments made to the Hutt City Council.

We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible and in any event no later than 20 working days after the day your request was received. If we are unable to respond to your request by then, we will notify you of an extension of that timeframe. The dates between 20 December and 10 January are not considered to be working days under the Act.

Please note that our response to your information request may be published on Hutt City Council’s website.

Please note that some information has been withheld from this material under section 7(2)(a) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act (LGOIMA) 1987, to protect the privacy of the individual involved.

You have asked for all internal communications about the level of this surcharge. This material will soon be available on our public website as part of a proactively-released response to another LGOIMA request.

Information that is currently, or soon to be, publicly available is not being provided to you in this response as the provisions of 17(d) of the LGOIMA apply.

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this response. Information about how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
