New Zealand Climate Science Coalition

MfE mentioned in a 2020 report that longer data records are needed to provide more certainty regarding extreme rainfall events.

Please also provide any all texts, emails, documents, meeting notes and other communication relating to the Our Atmosphere and Climate 2020 report that mention extreme weather records.

I am seeking to understand if the Ministry of Research, Science and Innovation has taken any steps to improve the database since being warned by MfE it is insufficient for accurate projections.

Minister Verrall is considering your request in accordance with the Act, and you can expect a response by 04 May 2023
