Thank you for your information request below, regarding GIS data for Ecosites.
In 2017/2018, Hutt City Council’s District Plan team (the predecessor of its Policy Planning team) was undertaking work on its Ecology and Landscapes Project. The purpose of this project was to identify areas of significant indigenous biodiversity (Significant Natural Areas or SNAs) and landscape areas (Outstanding Natural Landscapes, Outstanding Natural Features and High Coastal Natural Character Areas). The Ecology and Landscapes Project ended in November 2018, with Council deciding not to proceed with this work.
Please note that the term 'Ecosites' is no longer used by the Hutt City Council, however we still have datasets from the Ecology and Landscapes Project (current as at November 2018), as follows:
• Significant Natural Areas,
• Outstanding Natural Landscapes,
• Outstanding Natural Features, and
• Coastal Natural Character Areas.
Please advise us if you want any of these datasets from November 2018.
Kind regards, Susan

Tena koe,
Please clarify what dataset or datasets were available through the following link:
http://gisweb.huttcity.govt.nz/html5view...
Did this link show one or more of the datasets you have provided? Did it show another dataset that has not been provided to me?
You state that the Council does not have a record of when the link became dead. This would be a fundamental question in relation to the issue of the publication of information. Please recheck your records and provide clarification on this point.

You have already been provided with the four datasets associated with the 'Ecosites' project, these being for:
• Significant Natural Areas,
• Outstanding Natural Landscapes,
• Outstanding Natural Features, and
• Coastal Natural Character Areas
There are no other datasets associated with this project.
The teams involved on the project do not know when the link http://gisweb.huttcity.govt.nz/html5view... was removed from our website or why. However, I will enquire more and let you know if we can provide you with any further detail about this.
