From: Sabrina Alhady
Department of Internal Affairs
Tçnâ koe M Daley,
We wish to clarify your request under the Official Information Act 1982
(the Act) as per your email below, in which you requested the following:
“I'd like the request the following information about the DIA Digital
Safety Group broken down by financial year for the past 5 years - average
FTE, revenue & expenditure, & reports received numbers.”
We would like to better understand what “reports received numbers” refers
to. Specifically, which reported information or topics you are requesting.
It may be helpful to refer to Te Tari Taiwhenua | the Department of
Internal Affairs website to specify the reporting topics you are seeking.
You can find information on Online Safety at:
[1]www.dia.govt.nz/Online-Safety. Information about the Digital Safety
Group can be found at: [2]www.dia.govt.nz/About-the-Digital-Safety-Group.
We would appreciate if you could confirm the above by 5pm 27 September
2023, or earlier if possible, that would be greatly appreciated.
Please note that under section 15(1AA) of the Act if a request is amended
or clarified after the date on which it is received, we will treat the
amended or clarified request as a new request that replaces the original
request. This would mean that the new due date of the request will be 20
working days from the date of clarification.

Dear Sabrina Alhady,
Thanks for prompt response, to clarify could I receive the cumulative reports per year for any report relating to online safety. I see you have the following 6 report options, could you pass on the sum of all reports received through here, by financial year for the past 5 years. If there are any other reporting mediums that take reports directed at online safety they should also be included. Breakdowns on the content of the report are not required but you're if unsure of whether report data falls in the online safety category feel free to include totals for each category instead.
Report Online Child Exploitation Material
Report Online Violent Extremist Material
Report TXT Spam
Report Email Spam
Report Fax Spam
Report other harmful online Content
