I have heard that some of the interislander ships are using the google suit (google docs, sheets ect) of applications and have some questions about this.
1. when did they start using these applications.
2. When were they approved/ are these applications approved for use.
3. Does using them follow KiwiRails' data privacy policy

Are you able to give an answer, even if it is to be delayed as you have gone past the due date you were legally required to answer.

Apologies, I had your request noted as being due on 6 August 2024.

I have enquired as to your request and am advised that KiwiRail uses the Microsoft productivity suite, and does not support the use of Google Suite applications for its operations.
Therefore there are no approval dates or data privacy policy considerations pertaining to the use of Google Suite that exist within KiwiRail's records.

Accordingly this request is declined under Section 18(e) - i.e. the information you have requested does not exist.
