Communications on Stefan Sunde & EY
John Luke made this Official Information request to Mark Mitchell
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for John Luke to read recent responses and update the status.
From: John Luke
Dear Minister,
I am requesting:
all correspondence with Stefan Sunde (Sunde is a member of the National party board of directors)
all correspondence mentioning Stefan Sunde or "Stefan"
Plus, all correspondence about EY (Ernst & Young or Ernst and Young) including:
any mention of their 'scandal'
'secret drinking club'
'PR nightmare'
'sexual harassment'
The above mentioned terms are related to recent articles on EY and their 'probe' into misconduct. The probe investigated numerous staff members, with resignations as a result.
Sunde has worked at EY for four years, covering the period being investigated.
He leaves EY in July, with no job other job to step into, and has requested people contact him with help for a new role. Please refer to LinkedIn post: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/stefan-su...
His post has no 'likes' from directors or partners, in what one can assume is an attempt to distance themselves and not be affiliated him Sunde.
Regards.
John Luke

Thank you for contacting the Hon Mark Mitchell, Minister for Police,
Corrections, Emergency Management and Recovery and MP for
Whangaparâoa. The Minister considers all correspondence important and
appreciates you taking the time to write.
Please note that as Minister Mitchell receives a large amount of

emails. This email is an acknowledgement of your correspondence.
The following guidelines apply:
1. Portfolio related correspondence will be considered and responded to
where appropriate.
2. Invitations and requests to meet with the Minister will be processed
as soon as possible and a staff member will be in contact with you in
due course. It has been noted that your invitation/request has been
received.
3. Media queries will be responded to by a staff member.
4. Requests for official information will be managed in accordance with
the provisions of the Official Information Act 1982, which may include
transfer to a more relevant Minister or agency.
5. If your email falls outside of the Minister’s portfolio
responsibilities, expresses a personal view, or is copied to multiple
Members of Parliament, then your opinion will be noted and your
correspondence may be transferred to another office, or there may be
no further response to you.
6. If your correspondence is to the Minister as an MP for Whangaparaoa,
this will be referred to his electorate office.
Thank you again for taking the time to write.
Kind regards,

Subject: Official Information request - Communications on Stefan Sunde &
EY
Dear Mr Luke
Thank you for your OIA request regarding:
all correspondence with Stefan Sunde (Sunde is a member of the National
party board of directors) all correspondence mentioning Stefan Sunde or
"Stefan"
Plus, all correspondence about EY (Ernst & Young or Ernst and Young)
including:
any mention of their 'scandal'
'secret drinking club'
'PR nightmare'
'sexual harassment'
I am writing to see if you would consider refining your request. As it
stands these parts: “all correspondence mentioning Stefan Sunde or
"Stefan" Plus, all correspondence about EY (Ernst & Young or Ernst and
Young) including any mention of: scandal, secret drinking club, PR
nightmare, and sexual harassment“ would potentially cover a large amount
of material and, especially, would bring into scope all emails and texts
from the general public to the Minister expressing their views.
If that is not the information you are seeking I suggest you refine the
request to explicitly exclude this information.
In addition the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has a senior
staff member who has the first name “Stefan”. We therefore cannot search
on this name alone as the result would a very large number of
communications, none of which would relate to Mr Sunde or to Ernst and
Young.
I therefore suggest you refine your request to exclude public
correspondence the Minister may have received and to exclude the stand
alone name “Stefan”.
If I do not hear back from you by Monday 5 August I will interpret the
request to include this material.
Regards
