As with previous versions, the NZ Pandemic Plan (interim update, July
2024) sets out a range of response measures that may be used to prepare
for, and respond to, a future pandemic. Measures such as infection
prevention and control, isolation of cases, quarantine of contacts,
testing to determine disease status and population trends such as
incidence and prevalence, and vaccination programmes are proven and
internationally recognised interventions that can be used, where
appropriate, to prevent and control the spread of infectious disease. 

 

Any response measures that may in future be implemented would be based on
available scientific evidence and consistent with applicable law
including, the Health Act 1956 and the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act
1990. 

 

The Ministry of Health is not aware of any globalist agenda to take away
fundamental freedoms and rights.
