Drug and Alcohol Testing
John Harpley made this Official Information request to Minister of Immigration
Response to this request is long overdue. By law Minister of Immigration should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.
From: John Harpley
Dear Minister of Immigration,
Why are Immigration New Zealand Officers/Staff not subject to random drug and alcohol testing, as are many other Government departments and many other work places in New Zealand.
CLARIFICATION of this on our part is, These people are making decisions on the character of visa applicants and therefore be should proven to be drug and alcohol free and above reproach when doing so.
Yours faithfully,
John Harpley
