Kia ora John

I’m the LGOIMA Business Partner who’s looking into your official
information request

My name is Varsha and I’m a LGOIMA Business Partner at Auckland Transport.

I’m responsible for looking into the official information request you made
on 18/08/2024 about payments made to MRCagney for their work on Auckland
Transport’s design guides, the nature and timeline of these contracts, and
requests for specific documents and emails related to the development of
these guides.

The LGOIMA requires that we let you know our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it won’t be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore letting you know of an extension of the time to make our
decision, to 27 September 2024, or sooner.

This extension is necessary because consultations within Auckland
Transport are necessary to make a decision on your request. Therefore, a
proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.

You are able to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
[1]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.

Kia ora John,

I had hoped to have a decision for you today but it is taking us a little
longer than expected with the internal consultation.

Decision to extend

We are still conducting our internal consultations, and we need to seek
refinement from you regarding the following questions. Therefore we are
unable to make our decision until we have completed our internal
consultation, and received your refinement. Therefore we are extending our
decision due date to 10 October 2024.

Refinement

7. Can you release any emails between Auckland Transport and anyone from
MRCagney that contain the phrases “emergency response” and/or “Traffic
Calming and Traditional Neighborhood Streets”?

We searched our email database for all emails between AT and anyone from
MRCagney with the phrase Emergency response and/or traffic calming and
traditional neighbourhood streets. This search returned 1335 emails, which
is a big result. Are you seeking information regarding standards or
project delivery? as this will help us narrow the result. Alternatively,
please provide me with a refinement option and I can run this search and
let you know the result.

If you are unable to refine this question, we are included to refuse your
request under 17(f) of the LGOIMA due to the substantial collation that
would be required.

8. Can you release any emails between Auckland Transport and anyone from
MRCagney that contain the words “damage” and/or “delay”?

We searched our email database for all emails that contained the keywords
Damange or Delay in relation to MRCagney. This returned 25,831 items.
Please refinement this question as it is a large result.

If you are unable to refine this question, we are included to refuse your
request under 17(f) of the LGOIMA due to the substantial collation that
would be required.

Please let me know how you wish to proceed with questions 7 and 8.

Kind regards,
Varsha
LGOIMA Business Partner
