Dear Paul Goldsmith (MIN),
Thank you for your response regarding my OIA request. I would appreciate it if you could take another look at the redactions in briefing 2324-1920. Given that this briefing is over six months old and has significant redactions I believe there may be grounds for a review.
Following the Ombudsman’s advice to seek to resolve issues informally between a requester and government authority before pursuing a formal complaint, I am reaching out in hopes of finding a resolution between us.
I would be grateful if you could let me know your decision as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely,
P Robins

Good morning
On behalf of Hon Paul Goldsmith, Minister for Media and Communications,
thank you for your email.
The redactions in briefing 2324-1920 have been reviewed as requested.
This briefing has never been publicly released before and the redactions
were prepared for your request under the Official Information Act 1982
(the Act) specifically. Some information redacted in the briefing is still
under active consideration, as decisions are either still to be taken or
announced. The passage of time since the briefing was written does not
vary this position at this time. As such, we consider the redactions to
continue to be appropriate under the Act.
Thank you again for taking the time to write.
